What is Route Marten?

Route Marten helps you explore and plan adventure motorcycle routes with contextual data like roads, elevation, campsites, and weather.

Creating a Route

1. Click the top left menu and choose a point-to-point or round trip
2. Enter a start location and a finish locaiton if point-to-point routing
3. (Optional) Adjust round trip parameters for distance and shape
4. Click Hunt for Route
5. Watch progress updates in the bottom drawer as data sources are checked
6. Click the top right menu and click Download GPX and then load the file into your nav device or offline mapping app

Understanding Route Results

• Map: Displays color-coded route (green=paved, orange=gravel, red=dirt) and points of interest.
• Drawer: Swipe up to see elevation, roads, weather, and campsites.
• Warnings: Pay attention to wildfire alerts on the map.

Loading and Viewing Routes Loaded From GPX Files

1. Click the top right menu and choose Load GPX Files then select one or more GPX files.
2. From the GPX file list, you can find, toggle the display, or remove a GPX route from the map.

Route Marten works best when you treat it as an exploration tool. Always verify the route and conditions before riding.
